Craig Bellamy states the English squad depth is so impressive that a boxing promoter wouldn't pair them against his Wales side.

The Welsh squad face England in a non-competitive match at the national stadium on Thursday before their important World Cup qualifier against Belgium next the following week.

England manager Tuchel has left the such as Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish out of his squad for the match against Wales and their qualifying game against the Latvian team.

"England have a incredible team, like France," Bellamy said.

"They have a market valuation of 1.4 billion pounds, Wales' is 170 million. Were you a boxing promoter, you would not put us together. It wouldn't be allowed."

Bellamy says ensuring the Welsh team can compete with the talented rivals is a "key motivation".

Bellamy added: "We do not rely on values, but the reality is they have more than a single lineup. They have multiple and France and others have the same level. They have loads of great players and that's a fact."

"One right-back went out injured the other day and there are two dozen others to go! They've got 60-odd players. I'd love us to be well-equipped like them."

These two nations most recently met at the 2022 World Cup in the Middle East, when England ran out easy victors in a group match before the previous England team reached the last eight.

The new manager is Tuchel, a European and world club champion at Chelsea who has won league championships in Ligue 1 and his native Germany.

The Welsh boss was previously an assistant at the Belgian side and the English club to Kompany, who replaced Tuchel at the German giants.

"He's an outstanding coach - his achievements speak for themselves," Bellamy noted.

"I have some sort of insight because the club he left I know individuals who have gone in there. I gain a glimpse from that of his methods and it's remarkable. "

"His strategic planning is top level and I aimed to be facing such a challenge - observe how we adjust because he will. I will get to learn from that. I'd love to get to that level."
